Beautiful Birth of Third Baby Girl at Colorado Birth and Wellness
When I arrived at the birth center (just shortly after they did) she was moving through surges in the water. They were undoubtedly intense, and yet she remained calm, present, and focused. I love seeing how differently we all labored. I think many folks (who hadn’t been around a lot of birth) might have assumed we had time based on how calm she was between, and even during, contractions.
She began instinctively pushing in the water, and we began to see her baby crown. But after several strong pushes, it became apparent we needed a change of position. We encouraged her to step outside of the tub…and literally as soon as her second leg flew over the edge of the bath…her baby girl flew out into her husband’s hands.

Catching your Own Baby - Homebirth of 6th baby
This birth and these images remind me of a crisp, fall morning…where the air is still warm but there’s a hint of cold in the air. They are warm, inviting, peaceful, and beautiful. The kind of birth images I’d want to curl up with. I’ve also included footage of the moment baby was born - caught and delivered by Ashlee herself.

A peaceful, unmedicated birth at Avista Hospital
Laura is an incredible labor and delivery nurse…who not only provides her patients incredible care and love, but also teaches thousands of people about birth through her instagram account. Her experience in the hospital coupled with her passion for unmedicated birth gives her followers such a unique and important perspective about what birth can look like in the hospital space. She hired us to document the arrival of her third baby, and we were so honored to be invited into the hospital she both works and births at. Avista Adventist hospital is truly one of the best hospitals for Labor & Delivery in our state. The midwife team at Avista Women’s care is truly exceptional. They truly support and encourage physiological birth. Denver, Boulder, and Colorado is lucky to have them!
