Denver Doula Support
for thoughtful families seeking grounded, evidence-based support through pregnancy and birth
Doula support matters now more than ever before. As a birth worker with over a decade of experience, I believe that you deserve to feel safe, seen, and celebrated during your pregnancy and birth. I offer holistic and evidence-based doula care for families across the front range of Colorado. My aim is for you and your partner to feel deeply supported as you move through one of the most transformative and important experiences in your life. I’ve attended close to a thousand births in Denver, and I bring a wealth of experience and intuitive wisdom to each birth I attend.
Serving Denver, Boulder, and Surrounding Areas
I want you to walk away from your birth in awe of your own innate strength, wisdom, and power.
And yes…I support and document all types of birth stories. From unmedicated water births to VBACs to scheduled cesareans. Every family deserves skilled, loving, and non-judgmental support.
What makes you different from other doulas?
As a doula + photographer, I’ve witnessed hundreds of beautiful, powerful births. My experience doesn’t make me a better doula but it does give me the benefit of perspective. I believe that each birth is as unique as our fingerprints. My goal is to help you find and amplify your intuition and inner-wisdom.
I’ve also developed close relationships with midwives, LD nurses, and OBs across Denver and Boulder. Many of them recognize me as I walk down the halls and welcome me with open arms. Having a positive and collaborative relationship with your care providers can make a huge difference in your overall birth experience.
Additionally, as one of the world’s leading birth photographers and the co-founder of Birth Becomes You, I also offer birth photography to every one of my doula clients at no extra cost. Birth photography helps you remember, understand, and integrate your birth story.
And lastly: I have five, beautiful children myself. I’ve given birth in the hospital, birth center, and at home. Each of my birth stories is different, yet powerful and life-changing all the same.
Where I Work
I’ve supported families giving birth at hospitals and birth centers throughout Denver and Boulder, and I’ve also attended hundreds of home births across Colorado. The best part of my job is that I support families giving birth in their bathroom one week and sometimes in the operating room the next week. I love supporting both hospital and home birth families because I believe every birth deserves thoughtful, grounded support.
How I Support Families
I support families through VBAC, unmedicated birth, epidural birth, induction, cesarean birth, twin birth, high-risk and medically complex pregnancies, hypnobirth, and home birth. Whether your goal is an unmedicated physiological birth or simply feeling more informed and supported throughout the process, my role is to help you navigate birth with confidence and connection…and also give you beautiful images that reflect the love and power of your journey.
Wait, you can photograph AND offer doula support?
Yes! As an experienced birth photographer and doula, I’m very comfortable moving between roles. I shoot purposefully, which means I have ample time to give my clients physical and emotional support in between taking images. During the moment of birth, your care provider will step in to help you deliver your baby, which gives me the opportunity to photograph the moment you and your partner meet your baby. Many of my clients prefer to keep their birth team as small and intimate as possible, which is why more and more families are choosing to hire a birth worker who can offer both doula support and birth photography. All of my doula clients receive a birth gallery of at least 100 edited images.
What does doula support look like?
As a doula, my aim is to help you understand your options and encourage you to use your voice to advocate for what YOU want out of your birth experience. I understand the process of birth well, and I’m able to offer education, resources, and hands-on support during pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum.
A birth doula can:
help you craft your birth plan
navigate birth locations, providers, and other modalities of support
talk through your fears/concerns
offer you 24/7 text and phone support
help your partner better support you during birth
provide water or food during labor
give you counter-pressure and hip-squeezes
suggest different positions to help you labor more effectively (trained in Spinning babies)
encourage you to advocate for the birth you want
collaborate with your care team to provide exceptional, family-centered care
and most importantly remind you of just how strong you are
Do you offer prenatal or postpartum sessions?
I love to connect with my clients both before and after their birthing days. This looks different for each family. Sometimes we meet in person for coffee. Other times we talk on the phone. I also love taking long walks, and would be happy to meet you at Wash Park. I want you to feel safe and safe both during your birth and your pregnancy.
After your baby comes, I am more than happy to come to your home for a postpartum session where we can talk about your birth and how the first few days/weeks of parenting are going. Other families prefer to just receive support during birth. My doula packages are customized to your specific needs and journey.
Does every family need a doula?
You are capable, strong, and powerful. No one needs a doula to have an incredible birth experience. I truly believe that you have everything you need within YOU. But I also believe that doulas can bring extra love and support to one of the most incredible days of your life…and you deserve all of that and more.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes! Many of my clients plan on utilizing some sort of pain relief during labor. I help my clients choose the best time to get their epidural…and then assist in position changes once they are comfortable to help baby find the most optimal position for birth.
-
I don’t work for any particular insurance company because I never want to jeopardize my ability to provide completely autonomous support to my clients. However, I do have an NPI number and I’m always happy to submit a superbill to your insurance company. But ultimately: independence from insurance companies and hospitals is one of the key benefits of hiring a doula!
-
Yes! Each year I support several VBAC births. I’ve even helped families achieve VBACs after multiple cesareans. During our prenatal session, we talk in-depth about your birth history to better understand why a cesarean happened…and then we make a custom plan for both pregnancy and labor based on your unique story.

I am super experienced in Spinning Babies, which helps ensure that your baby is in the most optimal position possible for birth. I also practice trauma-informed care, as I believe that everyone giving births deserves to feel deeply safe and seen. About half of the births I attend are out of the hospital, but I also have years of experience in high-risk pregnancy and birth.

A midwife is a medical provider who cares for you and your baby throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. They provide clinical care, monitor health and safety, and deliver babies.
A doula is a non-medical support person who provides emotional, physical, and educational support throughout the birth experience. We help families feel informed, grounded, supported, and cared for during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.
Many families choose both a midwife and a doula because the roles work beautifully together.

Working with me is deeply supportive, collaborative, and grounded. My role is not to take over your birth experience, but to help you feel informed, cared for, and supported as you navigate it. I support families through hospital birth, home birth, VBAC, induction, cesarean birth, and everything in between with a balance of evidence-based education, emotional support, and calm presence throughout the process.
