Denver Birth Photographer - the Quick and Powerful Denver Health Birth of Wendell

Angela and Misha are best friends with one of my dear friends, Maggie. I had the honor of photographing Maggie's birth in the fall of 2015, and both Angela and Misha were in attendance (and pregnant!) Angela and Misha planned for an unmedicated hospital birth at Denver Health with the Denver Health midwives, and I was honored to attend their birth as both their doula and their birth photographer. Misha went past their due date and after trying everything to induce labor naturally, the midwives and Misha and Angela decided that a medical induction was the best choice. After a few doses of cytotec, I got the phone-call that contractions were picking up. By the time I reached Denver Health, Misha was working through intense back-to-back contractions with immense strength and concentration. We moved from the birth ball to the bath, where Misha started to express feelings of "I can't do this!" I suggested we get checked before making a decision about an epidural...and sure enough, Misha was complete and ready to push! Amazingly, Wendell came out en caul, and I was able to document the beautiful transition from womb to world. Misha and Angela were SUCH a beautiful team, and I was truly honored to be part of their birth day.
