The Baby + Co Birth Center Birth of Barrett

I'm a little over two weeks away from my due date. Eek! And I loved looking through these birth images this morning because baby Barrett was born in the same room I hope to deliver my daughter in and with the same midwife I hope will be able to catch her! I'm giving birth at Baby + Co - a beautiful free-standing birth center here in Denver. I photographed Barrett's birth when I was just barely pregnant - only about 6 or 7 weeks along (and in the thick of first trimester nausea.) Seeing the love that Rebekah and her sweet partner Jake had for each other...and their soon-to-be-born son...was so inspiring, and made all the nausea and exhaustion melt away. They worked together with such sweet intensity. Contraction after contraction, they held onto each other, embracing the fullness that is birth. 

Rebekah's father is a family practitioner in Montana, and he, along with other family members, were present for Barrett's birth. Rebekah's dad had delivered many of his own children and grandchildren, so it was special to have him in the room when Rebekah had her baby. 

These images are some of my favorites...and I hope you can see why. The love and connection between these two as they became a family of three is just priceless. And I hope I'll be sharing some more images of this room in the next few weeks :)
